Having yet to be discovered by mass tourism, Zambia possesses several important natural reserves of which the South Luangwa national Park is the most famous. With more than 100 000 elephants and thousands of rhinos, the park is one of the most exclusive wildlife sanctuary of all Africa. South Luangwa is also known for its abundance of predators: lions, leopards, Thornicroft's giraffe (an endemic specie to the park) and wildebeest all roam into the park.
This safari of several days in the South Luangwa reserve will first be experienced from a luxurious camp and then from various smaller lodges that are totally integrated to the environment.
You will live a unique experience that is completely different from a traditional 4x4 safari (which you will also have the opportunity to do). Even if it is less likely that we will encounter because of their instinctive fear of humans, you are also assured to live some surprising experiences: it is common to get close to the antelopes, zebra and small herbivorous. You should also get the chance to see from up close some elephants, giraffe and buffaloes.
This unique Zambian safari, done on foot like in the era of the first pioneers, will provide you an authentic experience with the nature. You will be able to live and feel from up close the animal's smells and sounds, as well as it's reactions when they will stare at you right into your eyes.

Self-drive trips (without a guide)

These trips are similar to our individual packages except that you do not have a local guide. The very detailed road book will amply compensate.

Level
1/3 “Discovery” travel:
Our ‘discovery’ trips are perfect for a first encounter with a destination or continent and are meant for the less adventurous. They are less physically demanding, involve less movement from one place to another yet enable you to see the most important sites at destination, usually with higher levels of comfort.
The ‘discovery’ trips are more traditional trips, with a hint of the exotic. This is very soft adventure.
2/3 “Exploration” travel
These represent 70% of the trips we offer. More ‘off the beaten track’ than our ‘discovery’ trips, our exploration trips are more demanding yet offer a good level of comfort at night. This can mean camping in the mountains and 4-5 stars hotels in town. Typically, these trips include some trekking off the beaten path, exotic discoveries (pirogue in the Amazon, night in the Sahara, zodiac to see glaciers, etc) and, finally, visiting more traditional sites. These trips are intended for all and require some spirit of adventure.
3/3 “Adventure” travel
For the expert and the adventurous. Our ‘adventure’ trips require a good physical condition. These trips, well off the beaten path, offer a unique travel experience! Among our ‘adventure’ trips, you can find climbing in the Andes or the Kilimanjaro; trekking in Bhutan, in the Himalayas; a one-week hike in the Sahara, a multi-day safari, on foot, in Africa; a multi-day trek in Patagonia, etc. These trips are intended for those who love open spaces and unique experiences.

The prices on our website do not include the cost international flights from your country of residence to where the trip begins. Except for group travel, all our prices are quoted on the basis of two persons sharing a room during the low season. They are therefore the lowest costs.
Our prices are in Canadian dollars, per person, and include taxes.
