Climate - The Netherlands

The climate is temperate maritime. This means the winters are relatively mild and summers rather cool. Average temperatures are 3°C in January and 18°C in July.
Springtime is the best time to visit the Netherlands. At this time of year, the whole country is in bloom, and rainfall is at its lowest level. It’s the perfect time to come gaze at the tulips that have made the Lisse region famous (Keukenhof, Hillegom, De Zilk, Vogelenzang, Bennebroe). Why not go for a bike ride and enjoy the wonderful weather!
With its abundant rainfall, summer in the Netherlands is similar to that of tropical climates. However, with temperatures hovering around 20°C, travel is still pleasant.
Expect more wind and more rain in winter and fall. Although it is also colder at this time of year, it’s still a good time to visit, since there aren’t as many tourists and the light is magnificent (especially in the fall).
