Botswana: one of Africa’s most beautiful countries, where safaris truly come to life. In the Okavango Delta region, between the Linyanti and Kwando rivers, Uniktour has prepared the perfect safari: isolated, right in the middle of the savanna, see wildlife like you’ve never seen it before aboard an open 4x4 safari vehicle.

Itinerary

Day 1| International flight

Day 2| Arrival in Cape Town
Arrival in Cape Town, reception and assistance, accompanied transfer to your hotel, right in the heart of the Waterfront.

Days 3 and 4| Cape Town
Breakfast at hotel. Rental car delivery early morning at your hotel. During these two days in Cape Town, you will be free to explore the city, go for a hike on Table Mountain and visit the Cape of Good Hope – truly a must-see.

Day 5| Stellenbosch
Breakfast at hotel. After a few days spent in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, it’s time to take a look at South Africa’s wine country: welcome to Stellenbosch. Among other attractions, you will discover a few “Wine Farms” that give the area its reputation.

Day 6| Stellenbosch
Breakfast at hotel. Today the Franschhoek valley awaits you. Don’t miss the superb museum recounting the arrival of the French over 300 years ago.

Day 7| Cape Town - Windhoek - Surricate Kalahari Tented Camp
Breakfast at hotel. Early morning return to airport, rental car drop-off and check-in for flight to Windhoek (1h50mins approx.). Pick-up new rental vehicle (SUV) then head south to the Kalahari. Early afternoon arrival at the edge of the desert. Late afternoon safari aboard open 4x4 vehicle (included) allowing you to observe the local fauna and flora and marvel at the remarkable scenery of a sunset on the red dunes of the Kalahari. Overnight at your lodge, dinner included.

Day 8| Sesriem - Namib Desert
Breakfast at lodge. Early this morning, walking safari in the Kalahari Desert with a Bushman tracker who will teach you about his way of life. Late morning, head for the Namib Desert. You will reach Sesriem, at the foot of the dunes, some time in the afternoon. Overnight at lodge, dinner included.

Day 9| Sesriem – Namib Desert
Breakfast at hotel. This whole day will be spent discovering the desert. Don’t forget to pay a visit to Sossusvlei, a magical area surrounded by red and ochre dunes standing over 300 m high. Midday return to lodge. For the rest of the day, you are free to relax or participate in one of the optional activities on offer. (ATTs are available at the lodge).
Overnight at lodge, dinner included.






Day 10| Swakopmund
After breakfast, continue your journey across this desert region until you reach Walvis Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. This town of over 40 000 inhabitants is equipped with a system for mooring tankers, making it one of Namibia’s main ports. Then off to Swakopmund, Namibia’s second-largest city. With streets lined with palm trees and lovely seaside strolls, Swakopmund is Namibia’s main tourist destination. Often described as more German than Germany, it is filled with flowery gardens, German architecture and part-wood constructions. Overnight in hotel.

Day 11| Swakopmund
After breakfast head towards Walvis Bay for a cruise (included) where you can spot fur seals, pelicans, dolphins and pink flamencos while sampling some locally grown oysters. In the afternoon, free time during which you can explore the town and its surroundings. Overnight in hotel.

Day 12| Windhoek
Breakfast at hotel, then back on the road, heading towards Windhoek, with a stop in a small African market in Okahandja. Mid-afternoon arrival in Windhoek. Overnight in hotel.

Day 13| Windhoek - Maun – Okavango Delta
Breakfast at hotel. Then head towards Windhoek airport to drop off your rental vehicle and check-in for your flight to Maun. Clear customs and then hop on a small aircraft heading for the Okavango Delta. You will land in the heart of the savanna and be greeted by a representative from your lodge.
Accommodation, meals, drinks and safaris are all included at your lodge.

Day 14| Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta: 1.6 million hectares of pure wilderness. Marshes, waterways, wetlands, floodplains, all right in the middle of the sands of the Kalahari. The Okavango Delta is known across the world for its biodiversity and its contrasts. It is an absolute must-see safari destination. Accommodation, meals, drinks and safaris are all included at your lodge.

Day 15| Chobe National Park
After breakfast right in the savanna, take a small aircraft to Kasane. Staff welcome at airport, after which you will be transferred to your lodge inside Chobe National Park, followed by your first land-and-water safari. Accommodation, meals, drinks, and safaris are all included at your lodge.

Day 16| Chobe National Park
After breakfast, enjoy discovering this wonderful national park, known for its thousands of elephants, hippos, and myriad predators. Accommodation, meals, drinks, and safaris are all included at your lodge.

Day 17| Victoria Falls
After one last morning safari and a bountiful breakfast, transfer by road to Victoria Falls (approx. 70 km). Settle into your hotel. Overnight at your hotel, right at the foot of the falls.

Day 18| Victoria Falls
Breakfast at hotel. It is Livingstone who first discovered the world-famous Victoria Falls in 1855. Plunging into the gigantic gorges of the Zambezi, 1700 meters wide and approximately 100 meters high, it is no wonder that these falls are called “the smoke that thunders” by locals.
The entire site it surrounded by a tropical rainforest on which the falls sprinkle a cloudy mist. Myriad vines, orchids, ferns, antelopes, monkeys, as well as some rare species of ebony can be found in the surrounding forest. There’s plenty to do apart from visiting the falls: helicopter rides, ultralight flights, bungee jumping, elephant back safaris, etc.

Day 19| Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Late morning airport transfer followed by return flight.
