Day 2| Stockholm
This tour starts at the airport, where you are met and transferred to your accommodation in the heart of Stockholm. A visit to the Vasa Ship Museum and the City Hall, with its famous Blue Hall, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year, is highly recommended. Spend the night in Stockholm.
Day 3| Candy Canes on the way to Jönköping
After a traditional Scandinavian buffet breakfast, you will pick up your rental car and start your drive south. Drive through the pleasant countryside of southern Sweden towards the city of Jönköping. On the way, make a stop in Gränna and visit one of the many candy shops that makes the red and white striped candy Polkagris (candy cane). Watch the baker make this traditional candy that was first made in 1859. Spend the night in Jönköping. Driving distance approx. 330 km.
Day 4| A slice of Swedish countryside
Continue to Kalmar, beautifully situated by the Baltic Sea. Visit Kalmar Castle, strategically important to Sweden's defense in the past. Spend the night in Kalmar. Driving distance approx. 220 km.
Day 5| Kingdom of Crystal (Glasriket)
Drive around the -Kingdom of Crystal- (Glasriket) and visit some of its most famous glassworks. There are more than 50 glassworks in this area, and many of them are open to visitors. You can find well-priced special gifts and souvenirs in many of the glasswork stores. Stay the night in Ystad with its many small, half-timbered houses. Driving distance approx. 270 km.
Day 6| Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen!
Continue west. The drive takes us through the province of Skåne to the city of Malmö. Cross over the new Øresund Bridge to arrive in Denmark and the royal capital, Copenhagen. Copenhagen has many sites of interest, including the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace (seat of the Danish Parliament), Hans Christian Andersen's statue, Gefion Fountain, the old harbour of Nyhavn, and the famous statue of the Little Mermaid. In the afternoon we recommend a wander down the popular pedestrian shopping street, Strøget, or maybe take a canal tour or visit the famous Tivoli Garden. Driving distance approx. 120 km.
Day 7| Castles and Manor houses
Drive across the impressive bridge to the island of Funen, often referred to as Denmark's Garden. The area got its nickname because most of Denmark's fruit is grown here. Spend the day on this picturesque island with its many large manor houses and villages with half timbered houses. While on Funen, we recommend a visit to Egeskov Castle. This renaissance castle is the best preserved island castle in Europe and it is romantically located on oak pillars in the middle of a lake. After the visit, continue your drive towards Odense where you will spend the night. In Odense we suggest a visit to the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, a newly renovated museum built in the restored home where the famous fairy tale writer was born. Driving distance approx. 165 km.
Day 8| Legoland
After a breakfast at the hotel continue north-west to Billund and the world famous theme park Legoland. Legos have a rich and storied history since their invention in the 1930s by Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen. The park shows what can be accomplished when designers with imagination are given 33,000,000 Lego blocks to play with. Legoland is a "must-see" attraction if you're visiting Denmark with children but you don't have to be a child to enjoy Legoland. It's an impressive sight for visitors of any age, with its Lego models of the Taj Mahal, Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and other monuments displayed in a garden setting. With a whole lot of rides and amusements, Legoland appeals to more than the Lego fanatic and the young. Spend the night in Billund. Driving distance approx. 105 km.
Day 9| Vikings on the way to Aarhus
On your way to Aarhus, drive via Jelling to visit the famous burial mounds as well as the two Jelling stones with runic inscriptions which was placed there by the Viking kings Gorm the Old and Harald Blue Tooth. Finally make your way to Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark. Spend the night in Aarhus. Driving distance approx. 110 km.
Day 10| Open air museum
Before leaving Aarhus, we suggest that you visit "Den Gamle By" - an open air museum with a collection of town houses from all over the country. There are many homes, cobbled stoned streets and gardens, shops and markets that will give you a good idea of what life here was like in the old days. When you are ready drive north to Frederikshavn. If the weather is nice, go to the Palm Beach just north of the city. Otherwise you can visit the Bangsbo Manor. The thatched, half-timbered headed barn dates from the 1580s. Today the buildings house is a museum and archive of regional history. Spend the night in Frederikshavn. Driving distance approx. 185 km.

After lunch you will board a ferry from Frederikshavn taking you to Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden. Spend the day in Gothenburg, shopping, sightseeing or just relaxing. You can also visit the amusement park Liseberg with its many thrilling rides. Spend the night in Gothenburg.
Day 12| Borås Zoo and Karlsborg Fortress

Day 13| Tiveden National Park and Trosa
On your way northeast make a stop in Tiveden National Park, where there are several nice hiking trails for nature lovers. Stay the night in Trosa. Driving distance approx. 295km.
